Sergio Zigras' F1Q timer
This timer is available from Bob Selman at BSD Micro RC as the ZTRON FF
Timer for $US 30.00 plus P&P. Look under Misc.
Electronics to order it or download a manual in PDF format.
Features:
- controls brushed or brushless motors via an ESC
- powered by the ESC's BEC function so must use a BEC
equipped ESC
- uses a servo to release the d/t but has no capability to
operate AR or VIT
- weighs 2 grams
- programmed by a row of onboard DIP switches and the start
button.
- The motor run is settable in 1 second steps from 1 to 63
seconds.
- The d/t is settable in 15 second steps from 15 seconds to
15 minutes.
- The motor is throttleable in 63 steps from off to full
on.
- Uses soft-start and soft-stop for the motor to save gear
wear.
- Requires a momentary push followed by a push-and-hold on
the start button to start the motor. The timers then both start
when the button is released as the model is launched. After d/t
the timer must be powered off and on before the motor can be
restarted: this meets the F1Q lockout requirement.
The timer's main limitation is its inability to control VIT
and auto-rudder functions. This may be a hardware limitation: the
timer appears to be ZTRON CL hardware with a new program to adapt
it for F1Q.
You can find a copy of the original manual here, though I don't guarantee it is
up to date. You can find out anything that isn't covered here or
on the BSD Micro RC
website by contacting
